Recap of Members' Meeting (12 January 2025)
We started our new year with our first Members’ Meeting on 12 January 2025. We welcomed new members and also heard of updates in our church life. A key item that was shared by the elders was regarding our plans to begin the process of planting a church.
Why Plant and Not …?
Our elders have shared about our desire and plans to plant a church. It has been heartening to see that many members agree with these motivations and have been prayerfully considering this. Some have also wondered about alternatives to church planting and in this article, we seek to address some of these alternatives and options.
Interview with Nicholas
Nicholas Quek joins us as our new Ministry Worker for Youth Ministry, beginning 1 January 2025. Here, we interview him to get to know him a bit better and also learn more about the work that he is going to do.
Spending Wednesdays in God’s Word
The Wednesday Bible Study (WBS) is a midweek Bible study group for men and women. What do they do? Sarah Ang, one of the ladies who is in the group, shares with us what they studied in 2024, and how the time in God’s word has encouraged her.

Watchnight Service 2024
We gathered as a church in the last few hours of 2024 for our annual Watchnight Service. We thank God for His faithfulness and provision, and commit to following Him again in the year ahead.
Family Dedication (December 2024)
Four families participated in our Family Dedication held during our 29 December service, the last in 2024.
Why Plant Churches?
Our elders have shared about our desire and plans to plant a church at various platforms over the past few months. Over the next few weeks, we will publish a series of articles that will hopefully shed light on our motivations and how we can embark on this together as a church.
God Has His Ways – Pua VBS 2024
A team of 12 from GBC headed to Kathy’s Home in Pua to conduct a Vacation Bible School from 28 Nov to 2 Dec 24. One of the team members, Victor, praises God’s marvellous work during this trip.
Interview with Gerald
We warmly welcome Gerald Boon, our new Church Administrator, with effect from 1 January 2025. Gerald is new to many of us, we interviewed him to help us get to know him.
Youth Camp 2024: Relationships
Our youth camp was held in December 2024. For four days, they gathered to learn about what the Bible says about relationships and how to apply it in life. Caroline Cheah, one of the youth leaders, shares with us what they did, as well as ways that they apply Scripture.
Christmas Outreach 2024
This past December, we invited the community in the nearby Bidadari estate to a Christmas Brunch held in GBC. Two members who participated in the visits and Brunch share their experiences with us.

Interview with Sze Gar, our deacon
Sze Gar has been serving as our deacon in the Welcome Ministry since 2020. We checked in with her in this article, and got her to share about her work as a deacon, how she’s thankful to God for the many ways that He has been at work in our church and needs in the Welcome Ministry.
Cambodia Mission Trip – October 2024
A group of GBC members regularly visit Cambodia to love and serve the people, and to also share the gospel with them. A team also made a trip this October, and Eng Ching shares her reflections and what she learnt about God from this trip.
Members' Meeting (12 Jan 2025)
Our next Members' Meeting — the first in a new year — will be held on 12 January 2025 after service from 11.15am to about 12.30pm in the Fellowship Hall.
The Reason For and Making Sense of God
This December, we have been seeking to make available resources and opportunities for church members to share the gospel with those around them. At our services, we have been giving away a copy of these books by the late Timothy Keller — The Reason for God and Making Sense of God.
How To Be Merry?
Teng Yun joined our traineeship from July to November. The trainees read through 1 Timothy together, and here, she reflects on how 1 Timothy 6 is applicable in a holiday season where we could also be stressed and struggling with contentment.

Pastor Andrew introduced 3 new CGs that have just started meeting, or will begin meeting in January.
Mums Connect: On Authority
Mums Connect has been reading the book “Authority” by Jonathan Leeman in the second half of 2024. Sarah Tan, who has been attending the sessions does a review of the book and some of her takeaways thus far.
