Overview of the the GBC Missions Ministry
The goal of the Missions Ministry of Grace Baptist Church is to exalt God by making disciples of Jesus Christ of all nations by supporting, participating, and partnering with individual missionaries, mission organizations, and institutions of like faith and practice.
This can happen as the Gospel is proclaimed among the nations and those who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are actively growing in a life-long process of becoming more like Christ and serving the Lord and who in turn make disciples.
The disciplemaking process looks like this:
Short Term Mission Opportunities!
Are you keen to participate in the mission field? The Missions Committee is launching a new initiative called Short Term Missions to encourage all members to take part in missions. This is a 3-month program where you will partner with our missionaries. The programme starts with a time of preparation with the GBC staff, followed by a 2-month period overseas.
Our first partner in short term missions is Kathy’s Home in Pua, Northern Thailand. Kathy’s Home is a ministry that cares for children from the Hmong Villages, teaching them Christian truths and living. GBC has a long-established relationship with Kathy’s Home. We send teams 4 times a year for 3-day mission trips to help and care for the children. Kathy’s Home is run by Mak and Narola, a lovely couple who have dedicated their lives to his mission. They have expressed their excitement about partnering with us in short term missions, and we look forward to the fellowship and fruit that will come from this.
If you have a calling to missions, we kindly ask you to take it to the Lord in prayer. Perhaps God has already placed this burden on your heart, and you have been looking for such an opportunity. If you are keen to find out more, please approach Joey Raju (90039664) or Elder Beh (97886171). We can tell you more about what to expect, what you would be doing and the available dates. We would also love to pray with you.
In the coming months, the Missions Committee will also be establishing other partnerships in Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar. Watch this space!
