Pre-Marital Counselling
We believe that marriage is a good gift from God.
Marriage, the relationship between a husband and wife, serves to point to the union between Christ and the church.
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.” (Eph. 5:31-32)
What will the course cover
To prepare couples for engagement and marriage, GBC offers pre-marital counselling to help them understand and apply what God’s word teaches about this most intimate of human relationships. The course material is based on Catching Foxes by John Henderson.
The course comprises around eight sessions meeting with an older, married couple from the church for mutual learning and encouragement. It is preferable that this be done a year before the wedding.
Who is it for
Currently, this is mainly for members of GBC only because we believe that being actively involved in Christian community is a vital part of getting ready for marriage.
If you're not a member, we'd love to chat with you about membership, and you can find out more about it here.
