Pua Mission Trip – Mar 2025

From 6 to 10 Mar 25, a team of six conducted the quarterly English Camp at Kathy’s Home in Pua in North Thailand and celebrated 25 years of God’s faithfulness and grace at Kathy’s Home.

We give thanks for the precious team of six that conducted the English camp at Kathy’s Home from 6–10 March 2025. This is probably the smallest assemblage of volunteers from GBC in recent memory. Three – Beh, Siew Kim and Jia Huey – headed from Singapore to Pua, while William and Karen joined them from Chiang Mai, and Noel, who is currently serving alongside the Sanglirs at Kathy’s Home, completed the team.

The team with the Sanglirs (L-R): Siew Kim, William, Karen, Jia Huey, Narola, Mak and Beh.

Although the team was small, the team chose to focus on the joy of servanthood and servitude and not on the challenges of doing more with less. God rewarded them with a wondrous spiritual experience and supremely kind weather throughout the camp.

Noel with her parents seated next to Beh as they enjoyed a sumptuous spread in the canteen to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kathy’s Home.

The team was also joined by the very ebullient parents of Noel—Feng and Virginia—who were visiting their daughter at Kathy’s Home and got to see at close hand the work God has ordained amongst His people.

Aside from conducting an English camp, the team also celebrated 25 years of God’s faithfulness and grace at Kathy’s Home with a simple but no less auspicious commemoration. It was a time for reflections and praise for His goodness and we are thankful to all the supporters and prayer partners of this work amongst the Hmong people.

Bidding farewell to Namtip and Oramon at the end of their nine and six years respectively in Kathy’s Home.

There was also an emotional send-off for Namtip and Oramon on their next journey to university. Namtip will study English at Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai, and Oramon will specialise in education at Rajabhat University in Bangkok.

The dates for the upcoming trips to Pua for 2025/26 are:

  • 29 May to 2 Jun 2025

  • 21-25 Aug 2025

  • 20-24 Nov 2025

  • 5-9 Feb 2026

If you are interested in joining, please speak to Beh (9788 6171) or Siew Kim (9752 5589).
