The worship ministry recently held their first in-person worship ministry meeting, the first in two years. Toshi shares with us the ways that God has provided for the ministry over the past two years.

Ephesians 4 tells us it is the risen Lord Jesus who graciously gives shepherds to His church, for the purpose of equipping the saints for ministry. The elders are thankful for how God has raised up faithful men who are willing to shepherd God’s church by serving as pastors-elders.

Joshua reminds us that Christ died and rose so that we could be united to both God and others in the Church, and exhorts us to deepen our unity in Christ.

This series in Genesis 12-50 will run from January to August in 2022. Genesis is an important book and provides context for the rest of the Pentateuch by explaining the nature of God and the place of man in God’s creation.

We held our first Quarterly Congregational Meeting (QCM) for the year on 9 Jan 2022, recounting and giving thanks for the wonderful deeds of the Lord in our midst, and committing the new year to Him.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, the current restrictions allowed us to hold our annual Watchnight service in 2021. It was held both in-person and livestreamed, and many GBC worshippers gathered together in the sanctuary or in homes to reflect on the past year.

From July to December, the Side By Side Book Club has been gathering (virtually) once a month to reflect and practise together what it means to walk side by side with one another and the communities that we are in. Jocelyn Lang shares her experiences with us.

From February to November 2021, we had a class—Preaching Lab—where a group of ~20 brothers came together to be equipped for the ministry of the Word. We hear from them what they have learnt, how they have benefited and what they were thankful for.

In this series, we will be understanding prayer using the A.C.T.S model, which is derived from the Lord's Prayer. The model has the following elements: adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication. Over the next month, we will be looking at prayers in the Bible and how they teach us to pray.
