  1. We need to change (Rom 6:1-2a)

  2. We can change, because we have been changed (Rom 6:2b-10)

  3. Therefore, we can continue to change (Rom 6:11-14)

Reflection Questions

  1. Eyes: What do I look at? Do I use my eyes to indulge my lust, covetousness or envy? What captures my attention?

  2. Ears: What do I listen to? Am I listening to lies and gossip about God, others and myself? How am I actively and intentionally listening to God’s word? 

  3. Mouth: How do I use my words?  Am I harsh, unloving and complaining? How am I speaking loving words to build up, encourage and comfort others?

  4. Hands and feet: What am I doing? Where am I going? How can I uphold God’s righteousness in my marriage and family, at school, at work and in the community where I live? How can I help others to know and follow Jesus? 

  5. Heart: What do I treasure and desire? Whom, or what, do I trust in? What are my motivations and goals? What gives me joy? 

  6. Mind: What do I think about? Are my thoughts and attitudes pleasing to God? How am I applying my mind to understand and be transformed by his truth?
