GBC’S PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 (UPDATED MARCH 27, 0900H)
With immediate effect
Dear GBC Members and worshippers,
To reduce the risk of further local transmission of COVID-19, the Government will enforce stricter measures to limit gatherings outside of work and school to 10 persons or fewer. All religious services have been suspended.
In light of the Government’s latest advisory, GBC will be taking these additional precautionary measures with immediate effect. They will be put in place until April 30. This may be extended if the situation does not improve.
1. GBC will suspend all physical gatherings, including our worship services. Our worship services will be conducted online and live streamed via our YouTube channel. We encourage all members to participate in the service online.
If you have difficulties doing so, please contact the church office for assistance.
Phone: 6747 7788
Email: info@gracebaptistchurch.sg
2. We will also conduct these ministry activities online:
– CLOBS
– Small group Bible studies
– Equip
3. Care Groups can continue to meet, as long as they adhere to the precautionary measures prescribed by the Government: i.e., gatherings must be limited to 10 persons or fewer, with safe distancing of at least 1m between participants. However, CGs will not be able to meet at the church building. We also encourage CGs to consider meeting virtually using applications like Zoom or Google Hangouts.
4. To prevent inadvertent breaches of the stricter measures, the church building will be closed to gatherings, including CG meetings. If you need to visit the church building, please notify the church office beforehand.
5. The following activities will be suspended:
– Monthly Prayer Meeting (27 Mar and 24 Apr)
– Outreach Ministry (Tuition, Gladiolus Place, etc)
– Church Matters
– Quarterly Congregational Meeting
Although we cannot physically gather as a church, let us continue to encourage and care for one another (Heb 10:24-25). Get in touch with members whom you have not seen recently, especially those who are vulnerable. Continue to pray for one another.
Above all, let’s press on in love. The current health crisis does present us with many opportunities to serve one another, so let’s do so with the grace that God provides.
In this time of fear and anxiety, let us take courage from the unchanging truth that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear….” (Ps 46:1-2)
