Overview of GBC Worship Ministry
"To lead passionately in vibrant corporate worship that is biblical and Gospel-centered."
Worship and Musical Style
We practice a blended approach to worship where well-loved hymns are sung alongside contemporary and original songs of worship that focus on the gospel of Jesus Christ.
In our services you will hear contemporary band instruments alongside classical instruments, including the organ.
Our church choir presents pieces of music to lead us in worship bimonthly, as do soloists, group singers and instrumental ensembles regularly.
Here are some examples of the songs we've sung in church, including some original compositions:
Consecration Hymn sung by John Cheah and Carrie Chong, 2014
Deep Love of Jesus sung by Kiyoko Mori and Gloria Yeo, 2014
What to Expect?
At a service, one can expect to participate in :
- the welcoming of visitors,
- the public reading of Scripture,
- the use of creeds and responsive readings,
- the presentation of instrumental musical pieces,
- the corporate intercession of the body of Christ through prayer,
- the singing of songs that speak the truths of Scripture and
- the hearing of the faithful, expository preaching of the Bible.
We practice the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month, and baptism services with occasion.
How can I get involved in the Worship Ministry at GBC?
The Worship Ministry Team would love to invite any baptised member of the church to serve in worship with their time and gifts. In order to make clear what we believe about service in the worship ministry at GBC, members of the ministry should understand and agree with the beliefs in our Worship Covenant.
We are always looking for brothers and sisters to serve in the areas of sound mixing & audio engineering, projectionists & visual display, singers & song leaders, choir members, music instrumentalists (both contemporary & classical instruments) and flower arrangement.
