“Your Kingdom Come!”
Luke 11:2
a Kingdom Definition—
The word translated, “Kingdom,” refers to a royal palace.
It is the place where royalty resides.
Revelation 7 answers the fundamental question in all of creation:
“Who is going to sit on the throne?”
1. Our Rebellion Problem
a. Rebellion against the rule of God is the fundamental deception of the Fall! (Revelation 12:7-9; Genesis 3:4-5)—
b. Rebellion is the reason that in Babel, God came down to see what we were up to. (Genesis 11:1-9)—
c. Rebellion was the great sin of Israel (1 Samuel 8)—
2. The Kingdom Solution
a. rule of God is the central promise of salvation (Isaiah 9:7)—
b. It is the central message of the Gospel (Mark 1:15)—
c. It was the primary content of Jesus’ post-resurrection teaching (Acts 1:3)—
d. It was the singular obsession of the early church (Acts 28:30)—
e. The Kingdom is why the crucifixion continues to stand at the very center of all of human history. (Matthew 27:51-54)—
