Ministry is all about people.
We believe that God has called us to serve people - the same way our Master served His followers. 2 Cor 5:15 says that because of how God has called us in the gospel, "those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised." In the church, we exercise the gifts and abilities that He has given us to serve people for Jesus' own sake, so that the we, church, might honor our Lord.
GBC is full of ministry.
To do this, we have a variety of ministries in our church – some have a unique function and purpose like missions and worship, whereas others deal with the needs of specific groups of people like the ladies in our church or the youth. In this way, we are not trying to divide the church up, but instead, support and strengthen one another in specific and meaningful ways as we live out our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
Here's an overview of the different ministries that we have:
- Welcome & Assimilation
- Care Groups
- Christian Education
- Children & Nursery
- Young Adults
- Wednesday Bible Study
- Outreach & Compassion
- Member Care
On each page on the right, you'll see an overview of what each ministry aims to do in its mission, how it does so through programs and activities, and how you can get involved in each of these areas of ministry.
One of the songs we love to sing at GBC is Graham Kendrick's 'Servant King'. The third verse goes:
"So let us learn how to serve
and in our lives, enthrone Him.
Each other's needs to prefer
for it is Christ we're serving!
We pray that God finds our ministry to one another and the Lord Jesus acceptabe in His sight.
