Thanksgiving Celebration
"I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure." Psalm 16:7-9
We are thankful to the Enjoy and Ladies Ministries for organising the Thanksgiving Celebration on 23 Nov. Not only were we blessed by the message by Mr Lam Kok Hiang (National Director of Campus Crusade) on how to cultivate a grateful heart, we were also encouraged by one another's sharing of what the Lord has been and is doing in our lives. Our hearts are glad and our tongues rejoice indeed for He has dealt bountifully with us!
"It is easy to give thanks when God answers our prayers, but when things take an unexpected turn, we tend to be affected by our circumstances and lose our focus on God..."
In his message, Mr Lam Kok Hiang highlighted how we can cultivate a grateful heart by keeping our focus on God in all circumstances, being content in little or in plenty, and to give thanks daily.
During the thanksgiving celebration, members encouraged one another by sharing with the person sitting next to them one thing that they are thankful for that day.
We are blessed by the many testimonies shared during the service - some gave thanks for the Lord's faithful provision for the different ministries in our church; others gave thanks for how the Lord has surrounded them with members who prayed and cared for them in their difficult times. There were also those who gave thanks for the Lord's faithfulness in keeping them and their closed ones close to God in their walk; while yet others gave thanks for the leaders and church family that the Lord has provided them with to guide and help them grow.
We do have a lot to be thankful for!
