Prepare for Worship (22 Nov 2020)
How has your heavenly Father been compassionate to you? As His child, how will you reflect His compassion to others?
Call to Worship: Psalm 103:8-13
"The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him."

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
We thank God for Pastor Eugene's ministry to Evangel Baptist Church last Sunday and we look forward to hear him preach this Sunday. His sermon is titled "Lost and Found" and taken from Luke 15:1-32. The big idea of his sermon is that God is a loving Father who seeks the lost and rejoices when sinners repent but the self-righteous refuse to celebrate God's grace. Let's pray for Pastor Eugene that he will be faithful to the text and that God's word will convict hearts and turn to Him in repentance and obedience.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
This week, let's be praying for these needs:
- Pastors (not just ours) who are faithfully serving during this pandemic that they continue to faithfully preach God's word and shepherd their churches well. Also, pray that God will protect and strengthen their families who lend them to serve their flock.
- God's people would be faithful in our gospel witness to those that God brings to their paths. Pray that Christ will be made obvious in our conversations and lives.
- The church that is serving in the midst of typhoons and hurricanes (the Philippines and Central America) that God will grant them the strength and stamina in their outreach efforts to help those in distress and need.
Here is this week's ministry guide for your prayer and participation in the life of the church together.
