Prepare for Worship (12 Jul 2020)

Ministry Guide (12 Jul 2020)

Let's spend a moment reflecting on this question : Is there anything I need right now that I can't actually get for myself?

Call to Worship: Psalm 103: 6; 8-11; 14

"The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust."

Continuing with Psalms this Sunday is Pastor Ian who will be preaching from Psalm 41. His sermon is titled "Hope for the Helpless". He will remind us that God is worthy of praise even in life's most difficult days. Let's keep Pastor Ian in prayer as he prepares his sermon that God will give him clarity of the text and use him to strengthen our hearts to trust in the mercies of God in times of suffering, pain and loss.

We are thankful that our new interns (Andrew Sung, Hannah Yeo and Joshua Lowe) have come on board this week. Do pray for them that their internship with GBC is a  fruitful and God-honouring one. Pray that we will steward these lives well as they seek God's call. Being the 2nd Sunday this week, let's remember to pray for all our missionaries who are serving God in the field overseas and locally that God will multiply their efforts and preserve their ministry. Also, let us pray for our political leaders to lead and serve the people of Singapore honourably, unreservedly and unselfishly. Despite not being able to gather physically, we are grateful that we can still do life together as a church virtually. Please refer to this week's ministry guide for what's going on in the life of the church.
