Prepare for Worship (23 Feb 2020)
How am I humbled that Jesus should die for a sinner like me?
Call to Worship: Isaiah 55:6-7
"Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."
Here are the songs for this week.
GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
Come and listen to what God has to say through Pastor Eugene this Sunday about Jesus, the promised Bridegroom who comes to save sinners by showing grace to outsiders, which however, provokes opposition from religious “insiders”. His sermon is titled "Scandalous Grace" and is based on Luke 5:27-39. Let's prepare our hearts to receive God's word with humility and pray for Pastor Eugene that God will give him understanding and wisdom as he unpacks God's truth for us.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
We thank God for the smooth conclusion of our EC Meeting last Sunday and the calling out of our brothers, Nehemiah, Jonathan and Pastor Eugene to ministry. Let's continue to pray for them and our elders team as they give of themselves to faithfully serve and shepherd the church as a team. Pray also for the deacons and ministry teams who helm the different ministries, to impact lives and bear fruit for the gospel. Let's not forget to meet to pray corporately on 28 Feb. Refer to this week's ministry guide for what is happening in the life of the church and prayerfully consider how each of us can contribute to grow this community.
