Prepare for Worship (22 Sep 2019)

What small steps can I take to align myself more closely with God’s purposes?

WORSHIP PREPARATION

Call to Worship: Psalm 33:1-4, 8-11

"Sing for joy in the Lord, you who are right with Him. It is right for the pure in heart to praise Him.

Give thanks to the Lord with harps. Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings.

Sing to Him a new song. Play well with loud sounds of joy.

For the Word of the Lord is right. He is faithful in all He does.

He loves what is right and good and what is fair. The earth is full of the loving-kindness of the Lord.

Let all the earth fear the Lord. Let all the people of the world honor Him.

For He spoke, and it was done. He spoke with strong words, and it stood strong.

The Lord brings the plans of nations to nothing. He wrecks the plans of the people.

The plans of the Lord stand forever. The plans of His heart stand through the future of al people."

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

Continuing with our sermon series on Romans this Sunday is Pastor Ian. He will be preaching from Romans 11:13-36 and his sermon is titled "Pulling Life from the Dead". He will point us to our faithful God who will accomplish His purposes. Let's pray that God's word that goes out will not return void but will bear fruit and draw hearts to Him, the eternal God of unhindered purpose.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

As the old familiar hymn goes:

"We are called to be God's people
Showing by our lives His grace
One in heart and one in spirit
Sign of hope for all the race
Let us show how He has changed us
And remade us as His own
Let us share our life together
As we shall around His throne"

Let us pray for the church that we will truly show His grace, hope and transformation when we share and do life together as a community. Let us encourage one another from Galatians 6:2  "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ" as we bring the needs of the church in the ministry guide before God.
