Prepare for Worship (11 Aug 2019)
Have I wholeheartedly submitted myself to humbly worship the sovereign God?
WORSHIP PREPARATION
Call to Worship: Isaiah 40:12-14
"Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand
and marked off the heavens with a span,
enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure
and weighed the mountains in scales
and the hills in a balance?
Who has measured the Spirit of the LORD,
or what man shows him his counsel?
Whom did he consult,
and who made him understand?
Who taught him the path of justice,
and taught him knowledge,
and showed him the way of understanding?"
Here are the songs for this week.
GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
This Sunday will be Pastor Eugene's 2nd consecutive sermon. Let's remember to uphold him in prayer as he prepares his sermon that God will give him wisdom and clarity. He will be preaching from Romans 9:1-29 and the title of his sermon is "Our Great God". He will remind us of the greatness and majesty of the sovereign God who is faithful to His promises to save. Let's pray that the Holy Spirit will convict hearts to respond in humble adoration of our great God.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
We want to thank God for the Baptist Missions Conference held in our church last Saturday. We thank God for the gathering of Baptist churches under the Baptist Convention for this joint effort. Let's pray for fruit from this conference. We also want to remember Sam and Jess who left for Canada on Wednesday in prayer. Pray for a smooth transition for them and the children. For more of how we do life together and other areas of need, please refer to this Sunday's ministry guide and prayerfully consider how we can serve one another.
