Prepare for Worship (14 July 2019)

As we prepare to meet with God and His people on Sunday, be thankful that our Heavenly Father has drawn near to us by His Spirit and that we can come to Him now for strength and assurance.

Call to Worship: Isaiah 44: 3-6

"For I will pour water on the thirsty land,

and streams on the dry ground;

 I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring,

and my blessing on your descendants.

They shall spring up among the grass

like willows by flowing streams.

This one will say, ‘I am the LORD’s,’

another will call on the name of Jacob,

and another will write on his hand, ‘The LORD’s,’

and name himself by the name of Israel.”

Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel

and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts:

 “I am the first and I am the last;

besides me there is no god."

Here are the songs for this week.

Continuing with the book of Romans, Pastor Eugene will be preaching from Romans 8:12-17and his sermon is titled "God's Children Live By the Spirit". The big idea of his sermon is that God’s Spirit enables us, His children to live new lives that glorify Him. Let's pray for Pastor Eugene that he will be faithful to the text and convict us to  live out our new lives as God’s children.

We thank God for the elders whom God has called to "equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ".  Let's pray for them as they do that at the 2nd run of Equip starting this Saturday, 13 Jul. Let's also be praying for those who are getting baptized on 21 July.  For more of how we do life together and other areas of need, please refer to this Sunday's ministry guide and prayerfully consider how you can steward your time and the talents that God has gifted you for His work.
