Prepare for Worship (19 May 2019)

Is there any indication in my life that suggests I am still bound to the Law?

WORSHIP PREPARATION

Call to Worship : Hosea 6:1-6

“Come, let us return to the LORD;

for he has torn us, that he may heal us;

he has struck us down, and he will bind us up.

After two days he will revive us;

on the third day he will raise us up,

that we may live before him.

Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD;

his going out is sure as the dawn;

he will come to us as the showers,

as the spring rains that water the earth.”

What shall I do with you, O Ephraim?

What shall I do with you, O Judah?

Your love is like a morning cloud, like the dew that goes early away.

Therefore I have hewn them by the prophets;

I have slain them by the words of my mouth,

and my judgment goes forth as the light.

 For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice,

the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings."

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

Taking the pulpit this Sunday is Pastor Ian who will be sharing from Romans 7:1-6. His sermon is titled "Dead to the Law" and he will point us to God our Liberator, through whom believers are liberated from the law and so are free to marry Christ. Let's pray for Pastor Ian that God will give him clarity as he prepares his sermon and that he will be faithful to the text.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

We thank God for the EC meeting last Sunday and trust that God will continue to give wisdom to the elders as they lead us going forward and pray that Christ is glorified in and through us as a church.  Let us also pray for fruit from the Celebration of Hope that God will convict hearts and draw people to Him and His truth. Let's not forget to uphold the ministries and needs of the church listed in the ministry guide that we will be a faithful to His calling as a church.
