Prepare for Worship (7 Jun 2020)

Ministry Guide (7 Jun 2020)

Are there any ways in my own life that I have allowed the pursuit of my own glory to keep me from knowing Christ as He truly is?

Call to Worship: Psalm 147: 5, 7-11

"Great is ourLord, and abundant in power;
his understanding is beyond measure.
Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
make melody to our God on the lyre!
He covers the heavens with clouds;
he prepares rain for the earth;
he makes grass grow on the hills.
He gives to the beasts their food,
and to the young ravens that cry.
His delight is not in the strength of the horse,
nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,
but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him,
in those who hope in his steadfast love."

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

We welcome Pastor Ian back to the pulpit this Sunday. He will be preaching from Luke 9:28-36 and his sermon is titled "Our Response to His Glory". He will help us examine if we have exchanged our pursuit of God's glory for our own personal glory. Let's pray for Pastor Ian that God will grant him understanding of the text and wisdom to help us see the meaning and significance of the sermon.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

We thank God that the Circuit Breaker measures have eased this week and we have entered into a new phase for some of us while for some, it remains largely the same. Yet we are grateful that God has providentially allowed this, signalling a situation that is under control. Give thanks to God for our government in their containment efforts and the help extended to those who are economically affected. Let's continue to be responsible and care for our neighbours as the battle with Covid19 continues. Do remember our migrant workers who have suffered much and our frontline healthcare workers who risk their lives for us. Here's this week's ministry guide for our prayer.
