Prepare for Worship (4 Oct 2020)

Ministry Guide (4 Oct 2020)

When did you last powerfully hear from God in His Word? Are there obstacles from your week that might keep you from hearing from and responding to Him today?

Call to Worship: Hebrews 3:12-15

"Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today", that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is said, "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

This week we welcome our elder, Caleb to the pulpit. He will be preaching from Luke 12:49-59 and his sermon is titled "Read the Present Rightly". He will remind us of Jesus' call to not delay and put off a personal response to the gospel. Let's keep Caleb in prayer that the Holy Spirit will illumine his heart and soul as he dwells on the passage. Pray for the church that we will not delay our obedience to God's word.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

This week, let's be praying for these items:

1. Children's Ministry

  • The seed that is planted in the hearts of the children will grow and bear fruit for the gospel.
  • The transition of the children as they adjust to their parents returning to their workplaces.
  • God's sustaining grace for the teachers as they devote themselves to teach and disciple the children.

2. English Congregation Meeting on 18 Oct

  • We will steward the voice of God as we affirm Chong Tien as an elder and a member of the English Congregational Leadership. Thank God for his family who lends him to serve the church.

For more of what we do in the GBC community, please refer to this week's ministry guide and be praying for the various events happening during the week.
