Prepare for Worship (30 & 31 Oct 2021)

Ministry Guide (30 & 31 Oct 2021)

How are we growing our humble and persistent trust in our sovereign God?

Call to Worship: Psalm 5:11-12
"But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;
let them ever sing for joy,
and spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may exult in you.
For you bless the righteous, O Lord;
you cover him with favor as with a shield."

The Hope series continues with the book of Habakkuk and preaching the first sermon from the book is Pastor Oliver. He will be sharing with us from Habakkuk 1:1-11 and his sermon is titled "How Long, O Lord?" The big idea of his sermon is that our sovereign God will bring justice through unexpected means. Let's listen with expectancy what God will be saying to us and take care to heed His word. Pray for Pastor Oliver that he will speak with clarity and conviction.

Here are some items that we can be praying for this week as we commune with God:

1. Reformation Sunday

  • Be thankful for this day where the church find its way back to God’s Word as the only supreme authority for faith and life and leading the church back to the glorious doctrines of justification by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone
  • Continued faith in Christ, and faithfulness to the gospel

2. GBC

  • Humbly but persistently trust in God’s design for establishing righteousness
  • CGs - will not neglect meeting together whether in-person or online. Pray that they will continue to persevere in knowing God more, loving and caring for one another during this pandemic
  • Children's Ministry - wisdom as the ministry team makes plans for the children to return to church for Sunday School in a safe manner. Pray for God's sustaining grace for the teachers and parents during this season as they continue to encourage the young ones to stay connected every week
  • Internationals in our midst - God will encourage their hearts while being away from their families and friends. Pray that as a church we will learn to love and care for them

Let us also turn to this week's ministry guide and uphold the ministries in prayer.
