Prepare for Worship (3 Jan 2021)

Ministry Guide (3 Jan 2020)

How will we live by faith in Christ in 2021?

Call to Worship: Hebrews 10:35-38

"Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For,
"Yet a little while,
and the coming one will come and will not delay;
but my righteous one shall live by faith,
and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pressure in him."

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

On this 1st Sunday of 2021, we are delighted to have Pastor Eugene kicking-off a trilogy on faith in 4-parts.  His sermon this week is titled "Living By Faith - Part 1" taken from Luke 17: 1-19. He will point us to Jesus, our merciful Lord, who calls His followers to live by faith which is characterised by forgiveness, humble praise and gratitude, watchfulness and persevering prayer. Let us pray for Pastor Eugene that he will speak solely and in all truth of God and His doctrine, saying things that come from Him, laden with love and filled with wisdom from above.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

Let us commit to uphold the church in these needs:

  • As we start this new year, pray that we will live by faith in Jesus, by forgiving others and humbly praising God for His Son. Pray that we will remain faithful and steadfast in the Lord, with a growing desire to love Him and His people more.
  • New visitors that God has so graciously brought to us during this Covid season that they will find in GBC a community where they can grow in their faith and word, and be encouraged to seek God's pleasure in their lives.
  • Members to step up to serve in the various ministries (children, worship, AV & sound etc.) as we start our Saturday service on 16 Jan to meet the increasing needs and demands. We also thank God for the recent batch of new members who have made GBC their home.

Please refer to this week's ministry guide to pray for other areas of needs in the church.
