Ministry Guide (29 Nov 2020)

How would the hope of our future gain in Christ change the way we think, feel and behave right now?

Call to Worship: Jeremiah 23:5-6

"Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: 'The Lord is our righteousness.'

This Sunday is the start of the Advent season and we will embark on a short sermon series centred around the theme, "A Son is Given". This sermon series will be based on different passages from the book of Isaiah.  Kicking off this series on Sunday, is Pastor Oliver who will bring us the sermon titled "A New Hope" where we will see God's promised hope to Israel through His Davidic Messiah King and how we as His people should walk in the light of this beautiful hope. Let's pray for Pastor Oliver that the Holy Spirit will illumine his heart and mind to see the glimpses of truth that God has for him as he digs into God's word.

This week, let's be praying for these needs:

  • New CGs starting up in East Coast, Ang Mo Kio and Punggol that God will use the leaders of these groups to grow the members in their groups to love God and His people more. Pray that the members will be encouraged and strengthened in their faith.
  • The Member Care Ministry as they embark on visiting those who are home-bound or shut-in, that God will help them to love these folks well and bring cheer to them. Pray that God will raise more people to serve with this ministry to provide member care. Pray that God will grant them wisdom as they discern the needs of people who are suffering economically.
  • Evangelistic opportunities as members reach out to family and friends during the Christmas season. Pray for us to be intentional in having gospel conversations.
