Prepare for Worship (28 Jan 2018)

Call to Worship : Psalm 19:7-11

"The law of the Lord is perfect,

reviving the soul;

the testimony of the Lord is sure,

making wise the simple;

the precepts of the Lord are right,

rejoicing the heart;

the commandment of the Lord is pure,

enlightening the eyes;

the fear of the Lord is clean,

enduring forever;

the rules of the Lord are true,

and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold,

even much fine gold;

sweeter also than honey

and drippings of the honeycomb.

Moreover, by them is your servant warned;

in keeping them there is great reward."

How have we loved God by cherishing His truth this past week? Can we echo the words of the psalmist in Psalm 19? As you prepare for Sunday worship, let's humbly come before God who is beckons us to find comfort and encouragement in Him and His truth, like a deer that pants for the water.

Here are the songs to help us prepare for worship this week.

This Sunday, Pastor Eugene will be preaching from 1 Timothy 1:1-11. His sermon is titled "Guarding the Truth that Leads to Love”. The big idea of his sermon is that the goal of love should impel us to guard the truth of the gospel. Let's pray that God will guard his heart and mind as he prepares to bring God's word to us on Sunday. And pray for the church that we will love and guard God's truth which is an expression  of our love for Him.

Here is this week's ministry guide which gives us a glimpse of how we do life together as a community here in GBC. Let us prayerfully consider how we can play our part in this community of believers by serving one another.

Let's come with expectancy to meet with God and His people on Sunday!
