Prepare for Worship (22 Mar 2020)

How am I living sacrificially, as a reflection of God’s mercy to me?

Call to Worship: 2 Cor 5:14-15, 17

"For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised…Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

In view of the recent advisory from our government to keep our gathering size to less than 250 people where possible, the elders are encouraging CGs to meet in homes to worship remotely via live-streaming and also those above 50 years old to do the same in their CGs or join one that is near to their home.

To facilitate those who will not be physically present in church this Sunday, here is the live-streaming for you to participate in worship with the rest of God's people:

You can also download the songs here.

Taking the pulpit this Sunday is a guest speaker, Dr Keith Eitel who is the Missions Pastor with International Baptist Church. His sermon this week is titled "Life of Living Dead" from Romans 12:1-2. We thank God for this partnership in ministry with IBC and let's be praying for Dr Keith Eitel as he brings God's word to us on Sunday. Pray for our hearts to be teachable and receptive to God's truth.

Let us continue to pray that we will put our trust in our God who is the same yesterday, today and forever as the nations seek to control the spread of the coronavirus which is causing much anxiety, fear and uncertainty globally. Pray for wisdom for the world leaders as they put measures in place to protect their people and for those who are vulnerable and susceptible to infection. Let's also pray for us as a church that we will stand united as we take cues from our elders in fulfilling our civic responsiblilty to our nation. Pray also for the smooth conduct of the Annual General Meeting happening this Sunday and that we will meet the quorum for the meeting to proceed. Be praying also for the other needs listed in the ministry guide.
