Prepare for Worship (20 Sep 2020)

Ministry Guide (20 Sep 2020)

Are there times in your life that you have allowed your personal accomplishments and even God's blessings to interfere with a healthy dependence on His grace and provision?

Call to Worship: 2 Peter 1:3-4

"His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire."

This Sunday, we welcome Pastor Ian back to the pulpit, preaching on "Kingdom Focus" from Luke 12:13-34. He will exhort us as followers of Jesus to reject the temptations of worldly riches and to pursue richness in God. Let's pray for the Spirit's empowerment and boldness in Pastor Ian's ministry of God's word to us that we will be moved to trust in God and seek first His kingdom.

This week, let's be praying for these items:

1. Elders

  • God's wisdom and grace as they come together to pray and plan for 2021.
  • Unity of mind and spirit as they seek to shepherd the church in a God-honouring way.

2. New Elder Candidate

  • Pray for Chong Tien as he seeks to sacrificially love the church by serving again as an Elder.
  • As a church, we will steward the voice of God in affirming his decision to serve the church.
  • Protection and strength for his family who supports him.

3. New Members

  • Thank God for the 10 brothers and sisters will be joining us (3 by baptism, 7 by transfer) as new members on 27 Sep.
  • Pray that they will continue to pursue Christ and grow in Him and for the GBC community to come alongside and spur them towards love and good deeds.
