Prepare for Worship (20 Oct 2019)

Is submission to authority a part of my “reasonable worship?”

Call to Worship: Psalm 100:1-5(CSV)

"Let the whole earth shout triumphantly to the Lord!

Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

Acknowledge that the Lord is God.

He made us, and we are his—his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.

Give thanks to him and bless his name.

For the Lord is good, and his faithful love endures forever;

his faithfulness, through all generations."

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

Taking the pulpit this Sunday is Pastor Ian who will be preaching the sermon titled "Living Under Authority",  based on Romans 13:1-7. He will remind us that our allegiance to secular governments is a reflection of our ultimate allegiance to Christ. Hence, we ought to express our allegiance to Christ through joyful submission to secular authorities.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

We thank God for the safe return of the missions team and their ministry to the Cambodia people. Let's  pray for fruit from their work among the students and children in Cambodia. We also thank God for Nehemiah and Sze Ern who will be joined in holy matrimony on Saturday. Let's pray that God will be central in their new life together as husband and wife. If you wish to serve God and the church, here is this week's ministry guide for your prayer and participation.
