Prepare for Worship (2 Aug 2020)
How is God calling me to sacrificially love others?
Call to Worship: Micah 6:6-8
"With what shall I come before the LORD,
and bow myself before God on high?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams,
with ten thousands of rivers of oil?
Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the LORD require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?"

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
Continuing with the book of Luke this Sunday is Pastor Eugene who will be preaching from Luke 10: 25-42 and his sermon is titled "How We Follow Jesus". He will point us to our Master Teacher, Jesus Christ, who in His conversations with a lawyer and Martha, teaches us to love our neighbour and to listen to Him. Let us pray for Pastor Eugene that his soul and spirit will be nourished and strengthened by God's word. Pray that we who hear God's word will follow Jesus by loving others and by listening to Jesus.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
Psalm 86:12 "I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever." This week let's take time to thank God for the evidences of His grace and blessings that you have received or witnessed in your life and the lives of others around you. We glorify God by enjoying Him, loving Him, trusting Him, and by obeying His will, commands and law (The New City Catechism). Let's continue in this spirit of thankfulness as we pray for the life of the church in this week's ministry guide.
