Prepare for Worship (19 Jul 2020)

Ministry Guide (19 Jul 2020)

What is Jesus calling me to put down and forsake so that I wholeheartedly follow Him?

Call to Worship: Isaiah 50:6-7

"I gave my back to those who strike,
and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard;
I hid not my face
from disgrace and spitting.
But the Lord GOD helps me;
therefore I have not been disgraced;
therefore I have set my face like a flint,
and I know that I shall not be put to shame."

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

This Sunday, we return to the book of Luke after a break of doing Psalms. Bringing us the sermon for this week is Pastor Eugene and it is titled "To Death and Glory", taken from Luke 9:51-62. He will point us to Jesus who models what discipleship is from His journey to death and glory. Let's keep Pastor Eugene in our prayer as he dwells on the text and that God will give him insights on how to lead us in connecting the Scripture to the life's challenges that we face.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

We thank God for last Sunday's opportunity to interact with our newcomers virtually. We are grateful to God for leading them to GBC. Let's love and care for these brothers and sisters as they grow with us. Let's be praying for those who are suffering from illness, loss of loved ones, economic hardships from unemployment or loss of jobs etc. that God will be their refuge and strength, providing for their every need. Please refer to this week's ministry guide for what's going on in the life of the church.
