Prepare for Worship (16 Feb 2020)

How do you come to Christ this morning?  Do you come carrying brokenness, burdens or criticism?

Call to Worship: Hebrews 4:14-16

"Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

We welcome Pastor Ian back to the pulpit this Sunday. He will preaching from Luke 5:12-26 and his sermon is titled "Carriers and Critics". Pastor Ian will present to us the different ways that people come to Christ -- with personal brokenness, personal burdens or with personal outrage. Let's prepare our hearts to hear from God who heals those who come to Him with our brokenness and burdens. Pray for Pastor Ian that God will anoint his lips and empower him to speak God's truth with conviction.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

Let's be praying for our EC Meeting on Sunday that as a church, we will steward our vote in a way that pleases God. Let's be praying for the church as we step up our precautionary efforts to make corporate worship safe and secure in the Lord. Pray that people will come forward to help with implementing these precautionary measures. We also covet your prayers for what the Lord is doing through the various ministries in our church as published in this week's ministry guide.
