Ministry Guide (16 & 17 Jan 2021)

How does Jesus' return give me hope and encouragement?

Call to Worship: Psalm 90:12-14

"So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of widom.
Return, O LORD! How long? Have pity on your servants!
Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days."

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

This Sunday, we are blessed to have our newly installed Lead Teaching Pastor, Pastor Eugene to continue with Part 2 of "Living by Faith" mini-series. His sermon will be taken from Luke 17:20-18:8 and he will exhort us  to live in light of Jesus's return by patiently confessing Christ and persevering in prayer. Let's us pray that God may be pleased to use the words of Pastor Eugene to magnify His name.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

Let us commit to uphold the church in these needs:

  • Yanadi who has just joined GBC's staff as a ministry support worker. Pray that he will help strengthen our equipping ministries, including Christian education, that resource us to live faithfully as followers of Jesus. Pray that as a church we will show our love and care not only for him but also for his family, Felissia and Lazarus.
  • Families who experienced loss recently that God will be their refuge and strength, giving them comfort and grace as they grieve their loss.
  • Long-term caregivers in families that they will find encouragement and hope in God's word to persevere in their love and care for their parents. May God be their portion and peace in times of need and discouragement.
  • The widespread division and strife in the global situation. Pray for peace and the different sides to work for the common good of the people.

Here is this week's ministry guide where you will find areas of need in the church for your prayerful consideration and participation.
