Prepare for Worship (15 Sep 2019)

How has God been gracious to you and turned your life around for His glory? Take time to thank and praise Him.

Call to Worship: Psalm 85:4-7

"Restore us again, O God of our salvation,

and put away your indignation toward us!

Will you be angry with us forever?

Will you prolong your anger to all generations?

Will you not revive us again,

that your people may rejoice in you?

Show us your steadfast love, O LORD,

and grant us your salvation."

Here are the songs for this week.

We thank God for the ministry of God's word through our pastors. Taking the pulpit this Sunday is Pastor Eugene and his sermon is titled "A Great and Gracious Reversal" taken from Romans 11:1-12. The big idea of his sermon is about God who remains faithful to His promises that Israel’s disobedience cannot thwart His sovereign and gracious purpose to save both Jews and Gentiles. Let's pray for Pastor Eugene that he will be faithful to the text and for us to be humbled by God's grace in choosing us, sinners for salvation.

This week, we mourn with Gerald and Fidelia on the loss of Gerald's mother who went home to the Lord. We pray for his family to find peace and comfort in God, and for the gospel to be proclaimed to those in his family who have yet to know God. Let's also remember the upcoming YA evangelism effort on 24 Sep that God will soften the hearts of those who come to seek answers to life's questions. Also, we want to rejoice with Donald and Emily for the gift of a new life in baby Edward Andrew Spencer and pray that God will grant them divine wisdom to be God-honouring parents. Besides these needs, there are others in the ministry guide that we can be praying for. Let us bear one another's burdens as a church family.
