Prepare for Worship (13 Oct 2019)

Having received God's love through Jesus Christ, how am I loving others? Let's acknowledge our shortcomings before God for failing to love others as we ought to.

Call to Worship: 1 John 4:7-11

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."

Here are the songs for this week.

We are thankful for pastors that God has given us to teach and equip us for the work of ministry. This week, Pastor Eugene will be teaching us from Romans 12:9-21 and his sermon is titled "A Loving Life". He will exhort us to live out our lives in worship of God by loving one another and those who are difficult to love. Let's pray for Pastor Eugene to speak God's truth with conviction, trusting in the work of the Holy Spirit to transform lives that manifest His glory.

We thank God for the relationships we have with other local churches and in particular Acts Baptist Church. We are indeed grateful for the opportunity given to Pastor Oliver to preach God's truth there. Please pray that God will use him to bless and encourage the church in the word. Also, let's pray for the safe return of the mission team after a week of ministry in Cambodia. To see how we do life together as a church here is this week's ministry guide for participation and prayer.
