Prepare for Worship (10 May 2020)

Ministry Guide (10 May 2020)

Think for a moment about the one God used to help you respond to the gospel.  As we prepare to meet with God and His Word, will you spend a few moments thanking Him for their faithfulness?

Call to Worship: Isaiah 55:1-31; 6-7

"Come, everyone who thirsts,
come to the waters;
and he who has no money,
come, buy and eat!
, buy wine and milk
money and without price.
Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread,
and your labour for that which does not satisfy?
Listen diligently to me,
and eat what is good,
delight yourselves in rich food.
Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live;
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

This Sunday, Pastor Ian will be preaching from Luke 8: 1-2 and his sermon is titled "The Secret of Soul Sowing". Let's prepare to hear from God's servant what He has to say to us through the parable of the sower that the soil of every heart is different, the behaviour of every sower is the same. Let's pray for Pastor Ian in his sermon prep that God would meet him as he opens himself to His inspired Word and that the Holy Spirit would empower him to speak with boldness and humility.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

This week, let us pray for strength and wisdom to be upon the leaders of our country as they continue to review and make changes to the Covid19 precautionary measures as situation evolves. Pray for the many migrant workers who are infected that they will not be overcome with fear and turn their hearts to the true and living God who gives peace to those who put their trust in Him. Pray that they will experience God's grace and mercy through the Christians who are serving amongst them. Pray for strength and protection for our medical frontliners who are working tirelessly, caring for the infected patients and that God will also protect their families while they labour. Let's not forget to pray for our church that though we cannot gather physically, we will persist in reaching out to one another during this unusual time. Let's also continue to pray for the ministry activities in this week's ministry guide.
