Prepare for Worship (17 Dec 2017)

WORSHIP PREPARATION

Call to Worship : Epheisians 1:3-6

"3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places,4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved."

How has Jesus taken the burden of our guilt and shame on Himself? As you prepare your heart for worship this Sunday, give praise and thanks to Jesus who paid the price of forgiveness to reconcile us to Himself.

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs to help us prepare for worship this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

This week, Pastor Ian will be preaching from Isaiah 52:13-53:12 and his sermon is titled "The Outrageious Exchange".  The big idea of his sermon will point us to our God who makes amends through His suffering Son, Jesus Christ, to bring forgiveness to undeserving people like us. Let's pray for clarity of mind and thought as he prepares the sermon and that God's word will convict us to respond in behaviours that are informed by our suffering Lord Jesus Christ toward one another

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

As Christmas approaches, let's prayerfully consider how as a community of believers, we can participate in the various ministry opportunities to reach out to those who have yet to know God.  Here is this week's ministry guide to help us pray for the ministries and get involved.

See you on Sunday!
