Prayer Points

I. Young Adult Ministry

Prayer & Praise:

- We give thanks for the conclusion of ministry activities in the first half of the year, including our evangelism events, service projects, Bible studies & discipleship trainings. Praise God for all the hours spent in ministry & pray for fruit from it.

- Pray for the ongoing YA retreat preparation including registration, speaker preparation & logistics arrangements. Pray that God will help us train disciples during this September weekend.

- Pray for the YA as we bond over a BBQ in July. Pray that relationships are deepened & people feel welcome, included and loved.

- Pray for the students who have their summer vacation, that they will use their time wisely & meaningfully. Pray for returning overseas students and graduating students starting work, that they will manage their time well & find a good spiritual home at GBC. Pray that they will not grow too busy for spiritual matters.


II. Evangelism

Prayer & Praise:

- The Great Commission Month is ending. We thank God for sharing His works both local & overseas through His servants & ministries (Rev Michael Shen, Pastor Oliver, Mr Teh Seng Chuan, Mr Richard Lai, Mr Lam Kok Hiang, Seekers Class, Tuition Ministry, Grace Haven, Ping and Heidi, etc).

- May His words land on good soil that bear many folds of good fruits. May God continue to grant GBC members the privilege & joy to participate in His outreach work where we are placed. May we grow in maturity as we walk with Him.


III. Discipleship Seminars Ministry

Prayer & Praise:

- For God's leading as we seek to raise up the next generations of teachers & leaders for the Discipleship Seminars ministry.

- For God to bring people to hear how trustworthy His Word is in the dialogue session we have organised with Prof. Craig Blomberg.

- For God's blessing for the upcoming module on the Acts of the Apostles led by David Koh.


IV. Youth Ministry

Prayer & Praise:

- Thank God for continuing work to grow our youth & leaders.

- Attendance for youth group & our organised social outings has been falling. Please pray that our youth will be drawn to attend Church & activities through a love for the Gospel & God's people.

- We are having difficulty securing a venue for youth camp this year (tentative dates 17 - 22 Dec). Please pray that God will provide a location for the camp.


V. Children Ministry

Prayer & Praise:

- Praise God that the children’s contributions to the building fund exceeded $2000.
- Pray for the children & parents undergoing preparation for the PSLE this year.
- Pray for teachers - the current operating environment has been challenging. Pray for renewal of their spirit & for renewal of numbers as well.
- We thank God that the children continue to attend church with their parents.


VI. Worship Ministry

Prayer & Praise:

- Thank God for the good response for participation in the upcoming Reformation Concert. There are currently about 100 musicians & singers who have signed up.

- Pray that we will reach our faith target of 120 people (100 singers + 20 musicians)

- Pray for the publicity & marketing team as they plan and coordinate the various announcements, publicity materials & concert ticketing details.

- Pray for the rehearsals, scheduled to start in August, that it will be smooth & people will come together united & excited as they prepare for this concert.

- Pray that the concert will be able to proclaim the truths of God through song & scripture & give glory to God & Christ our King.

- Thank God for the people who have indicated interest in the sound ministry. Please pray for the team as they prepare & conduct a sound primer class for the those who have signed up and that they will be able to serve with glad hearts in this important ministry.



Prayer & Praise:

- Thank God for an enriching time of studying God's Word on the theme of "Gospel Centred Community" during the last 6 months.

- Pray that CG members will put into practice what they have learned.

-Pray that Care Group Leaders will avail themselves to attend the CG Ministry's Training Session on 6 Aug. The Theme is "Pastoral Care" and the session will be led by Pastor Arnold.


VIII. Church Rebuilding

Prayer & Praise:

- Site work progress. Work on the fourth level of the church superstructure has started; it is now at this critical phase of building the roof over the main sanctuary. Please pray for a smooth & safe building process as the beams are laid for that level.

- Site work safety. Praise God that the site safety awareness has been heightened. Please continue to pray that the Lord will keep all the site workers safe and in good health. We are also thankful to God for His provision of responsible & competent project manager & resident technical officer.

- Building Sub-committee (BSC). We are thankful for the BSC members who have worked tirelessly looking into areas of cost-saving for the church rebuilding. Please pray for them as they make important decisions to move ahead without compromising good functionality.

- Church rebuilding fund. As of 24 July 2016, we are thankful to have raised just over 12.43 million dollars for our church rebuilding fund. Continue to pray that we will trust on His provision as we continue to give joyfully and work together to reach the final goal.
