New Sermon Series on "Moses" beginning on 13 September 2015

We have completed our series on "Prayer" and this Sunday, we are beginning our new series on "Moses". Pastor Arnold shares with us why and what we can learn from Moses in the face of real life changes.

What is the big idea of the series?

The Bible tells us in Romans 15:4, “For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” (NASB). In the Scriptures we find accounts of real people, living real lives, facing real life challenges.

Moses was one of them. His many life challenges included, but were not limited to, being a ‘…liberator, legislator and mediator’. Also, let us not forget that an important part of his role was to be a spiritual leader. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 11 that Moses was able to overcome these challenges and fulfill his roles because of his faith and his personal relationship with God.

What can we expect to learn from the series?

It is true that the challenges Moses had to face were of ‘epic’ proportions. How can we be certain that God will help us too? The great encouragement for us is that if God could deliver a flawed man like Moses when he faced great challenges, God can help us with our challenges too. We have great hope as we study the life of Moses not because Moses was a great man, but because we have a great God, who provided for His people in the desert then, but have provided all we need in Jesus for us now.

How can we be praying before and throughout the series?

Let's be praying that our brothers and sisters in Christ will find hope and confidence to overcome the "giants" in their lives, as we fix our eyes not on the overwhelming circumstances now, but on the great and mighty God that we have.
