Dear Grace Baptist Church family,

Grace and peace to all of you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Many of you have read that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has taken precautionary measures to manage the escalating 2019-Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) and raised the DORSCON (Disaster Outbreak Response System Condition) to Orange. The impact of daily life is “moderate disruption” i.e., implementing quarantine, temperature screenings and visitor restrictions at hospitals. This is comparable with the SARS situation from 2002 to 2003, according to MOH.

The elders have been monitoring this situation, and take reference from official MOH advisories. We are mindful not to endorse fake news that is spreading or cause unnecessary alarm.

As Pastor Eugene wrote recently, in the face of uncertainty, let us seek to grow in faithfulness.

Please note the following:

  • Our worship services will continue, but in light of this latest news, we will require all worshippers to register in church to facilitate contact tracing if necessary. Please be diligent and patient in this.
  • We strongly urge you to refrain from attending the service if you are not well, especially the elderly and children. If you are on Leave of Absence or on quarantine please do not attend. Please participate by watching our service online.
  • We will also discourage handshaking, and urge all to regularly wash their hands and avoid touching your face.

At this time, let us continue to place our trust in God and pray for Singapore and the world.
