Let's Prepare for Worship this Sunday (21 May 17)

The many voices of the world places in us seeds of discontentment. The advertisements tell us we are not attractive enough; the rat-race for success tells us we are not smart enough; the society tells us we have not achieved enough. How then do we as Christians cultivate joy and be happy and contented in the midst of these shouts that draw us to discontentment? Our God who reigns has saved us and redeemed us. We can sing for joy at our rescue. We can be comforted as we look forward to Jesus Christ' return. God's salvation plan is for the world to see. This is what we proclaim to the nations!

Call to Worship : Isaiah 52:7-10 (ESV)
“How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”
The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice;
together they sing for joy;
for eye to eye they see
the return of the Lord to Zion.
Break forth together into singing,
you waste places of Jerusalem,
for the Lord has comforted his people;
he has redeemed Jerusalem.
The Lord has bared his holy arm
before the eyes of all the nations,
and all the ends of the earth shall see
the salvation of our God.”

Joy is a result of God's salvation gift and let's give thanks to God for this gift of joy which comes at a great expense to God through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Here are the songs to help you worship God this week.

This week, we are privileged to have a Director of a missionsnorganisation bring us God's Word on Sunday. His sermon is titled “Great Commission Eyes, Hands and Feet" (Matt 9:35-38 & Matt 28:19-20). Let's be praying that God will anoint his lips as he shares what God has laid upon his heart and pray that we be teachable and obedient to the call of disciple-making.

There are different ways we can care for our church community and one of which is to pray for them. Please be praying not only for the needs of the various ministries that seek to serve the church but also for yourself to participate in serving one another.

Let's do life together as a church in Worship, in Word and in Community. See you on Sunday!
