Prepare for Worship (26 Jul 2020)
Consider how your earthly life would be diminished if you had salt, but never used it? or if you had lights, but never turned them on?
Call to Worship: Psalm 22:25-28
"From you, O God comes my praise in the great congregation;
my vows I will perform before those who fear You.
The afflicted shall eat and be satisfied;
those who seek him shall praise the Lord!
May your hearts live forever!
All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.
For kingship belongs to the Lord,
and he rules over the nations."

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
This week we continue to walk with Jesus in His journey to Jerusalem, a journey to death and glory. This Sunday, Pastor Ian will unpack for us Luke 10:1-24 where Jesus begins His succession plan by sending out His disciples to do the urgent kingdom work. Let's pray for Pastor Ian that he will find wisdom and understanding from God's word and rely on the Holy Spirit working through the word. Pray that Scripture will instruct his heart as he does ministry daily.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
We thank God for Though we are now in post CB Phase 2 period, let us not forget to pray that God will protect and give strength to our medical & healthcare workers who are fronting this war against Covid19. Pray for their families who have lent their loved ones to serve us during these anxious times that God will also keep them safe. Let's also pray that we will continue to live out Heb 10:24-25:"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." Pray for those attending the Church Matters class that as they learn more about what GBC believes in and what it means to be joined to a local church, that they will plug themselves in to GBC. Pray also for wisdom and humility for the elders as they plan the nexts steps in the new normal. Here is this week's ministry guide for your prayer and participation.
