Prepare for Worship (29 Dec 2019)

What am I really waiting for, and what do I intend to do with Jesus?

Call to Worship: Psalm 118:20-24

“This is the gate of the LORD; the righteous shall enter through it.

We thank you that you have answered us and have become our salvation.

The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.

This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

Bringing us the sermon this Sunday is Pastor Ian who will be preaching from Luke 2: 22-52 and his sermon is titled Jesus Presented: What are You Waiting For?”. The big idea of his sermon is that Jesus is everything that we are waiting for and the only gracious Saviour that we find sufficiency in. Let us pray for peace and quiet as Pastor Ian mulls over the passage to bring what God wants to speak through him. Pray for the congregation to be open and tender to God's truth.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

We thank God for a wonderful Christmas service where the gospel was proclaimed in scripture and song. We pray that the seed of the gospel will take root and grow in the hearts of those who are searching or seeking or wandering, that they will find hope and peace in Jesus. Even as the year draws to a close, let's gather at the Watchnight Service on 31 Dec, for a time of thanksgiving, reflection and prayer as a church. Let's not forget to pray for the other needs of the church that are found in the ministry guide.
