CHURCH LIFE ANNOUNCEMENTS
ENGLISH CONGREGATIONAL MEETING | 25 JULY 2021
We give thanks to God for the affirmation last Sunday for Ngo Thian Chye to serve as Associate Pastor/Elder and Lam Lup Meng as Elder, and also as members of the English Congregation Leadership Team. We also thank Janice and Winnie, and their families for lending them to the church to serve as elders. We also appreciate members of the English Congregation for stewarding your votes well, and through that, encouraging and strengthening both brothers' hearts to serve. We ask that members continue to pray for them and their families, for God's sustaining grace and wisdom to shepherd the church well. May we continue to partner one another for the sake of the gospel!

GBC'S RESPONSE TO COVID-19
As Singapore moves backwards to Phase 2 Heightened Alert from 22 July to 18 August 2021, MCCY has provided guidelines on the tighter measures for religious activities to proceed.
In the spirit of the tighter measures, however, GBC's English Congregation will voluntarily suspend in-person worship services and conduct all ministry activities online during this period of heightened alert. We urge GBC members to worship from home through the online services broadcast on YouTube Live until we resume gathering together for worship.
We are disappointed by these changes. Yet we recognise that infection numbers are on the rise as the new clusters continue to grow and spread, even to markets and hawker centres. Let us pray that our sovereign God will have mercy on Singapore. Pray that the clusters will come under control and that lives will be preserved. Pray especially that vulnerable seniors will be protected at this time.
Scripture says; “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you” (Psalm 56:3). All our trust is in the LORD our God. May the Lord help us to encourage one another during this season apart.
English Congregation Elders
George and Rosalind Kwek along with their family would like to thank the pastoral staff and church members for the encouragement during their recent bereavement. They would like to convey their deep appreciation to those who turned up at the wake to offer your support during their period of grief.
HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU?
"Pray in the Spirit on all occasions....With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people." (Ephesians 6:18). Yes, praying for people is one way we show care and love for people. If you have any prayer needs, please drop the pastoral staff a note via https://tinyurl.com/pastoralprayer or scan this QR code:
