Prepare for Worship (9 Sep 2018)

Is there anyone in the church that you are struggling to love? This week, let us focus on God’s love for us which He shows through Christ, who fulfills all commandments and enables us to live lives pleasing to Him.

Call to Worship: Isaiah 60:1-3

Arise, shine, for your light has come,

and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth,

and thick darkness the peoples;

but the Lord will arise upon you,

and his glory will be seen upon you.

And nations shall come to your light,

and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Here are the songs for this week.

Our Associate Pastor, Sam Beh, will be taking the pulpit this Sunday. He will be preaching from 1 John 2:3-11 and his sermon is titled "Walking in the Light of God's Love". He will point us to God's command that all Christians are to live in His goodness and fellowship with Him by loving all Christians. Let's be praying for his sermon preparation and us to respond in view of God's love and grace, to love all our spiritual brothers and sisters.

One way we serve our GBC community is through giving. This Sunday being the 2nd Sunday of the month, we are giving towards our missions fund. Let's be praying that God's name will be magnified across the lands and at home, as we steward the resources He has blessed us with for the expansion of His kingdom. For more opportunities to serve our community, please refer to this week's ministry guide by prayerfully considering participating in or praying for them. May God help us to be a community of light and hope that points people to Him.
