Prepare for Worship (18 Feb 2018)

Call to Worship : Psalm 46:8-10

"Come, behold the works of the Lord,

 how he has brought desolations on the earth.

He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;

he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;

 he burns the chariots with fire.

“Be still, and know that I am God.

  I will be exalted among the nations,

 I will be exalted in the earth!"

Amidst the festivities of Chinese New Year, let's remember to be quiet before God just thanking Him for making us holy through His Son and also exalt Christ who has not only transformed us by His grace but has revealed godliness to us, showing us what it looks like to live for God’s pleasure.

Here are the songs to help us prepare for worship this week.

Pastor Eugene's sermon this Sunday is titled “Wanted: Exemplary Leaders for God’s Household” from 1 Timothy 3:1-16. The big idea of his sermon is about how God raises up godly men and women in the church to be examples of how we should live and follow Jesus. Let's be praying for his sermon preparation and that God will use him to ecxhort us to be holy because the holy God has saved us in Christ for godliness.

Here's this week's ministry guide which provides a glimpse of what community life is in GBC. Let us continue to participate in praying and serving in the various ministries of the church and be a gospel-centred community that glorifies God in word and deed.

Have a blessed Chinese New Year and see you on Sunday!
