Prepare for Worship (24 Mar 2019)

How have I been responding to my sufferings and troubles? Do my responses reflect my hope in Jesus Christ?

WORSHIP PREPARATION

Call to Worship: Habakkuk 3:17-19 (NLT)

"Even though the fig trees have no blossoms,

and there are no grapes on the vines;

even though the olive crop fails,

and the fields lie empty and barren;

even though the flocks die in the fields,

and the cattle barns are empty,

yet I will rejoice in the Lord!

I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!

The Sovereign Lord is my strength!

He makes me as surefooted as a deer,

able to tread upon the heights."

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

Pastor Oliver will be taking the pulpit this Sunday and his sermon is titled "Boasting in Our Sufferings" from Romans 5:1-8. He will help us understand that because we have been justified by faith in Christ, we have peace with God, therefore we can boast in our present suffering and rejoice in our future glory. Let's pray for Pastor Oliver that God will anoint his lips as he points us to our God who gives hope. Pray that we will find rest and peace in Him in times of suffering.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

As we gather with our Chinese Congregation this Sunday for the AGM, let's pray that God's name be honoured   in the conduct of the meeting. Also, be praying for us to respond to the call for counsellors at the Celebration of Hope event. For more of how we do life together as a community, here is this week's ministry guide for your prayer and participation.
