Prepare for Worship (17 Feb 2019)

What is the condition of our hearts before God? How is He calling us to return to Him?

WORSHIP PREPARATION

Call to Worship: Deuteronomy 30:2-3, 6

“Return to the LORD your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you… And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.”

SONGS OF WORSHIP

Here are the songs for this week.

GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP

Taking the pulpit this week is Pastor Eugene and he will be preaching from Romans 2:25-29. His sermon is titled "We Can't Keep Up Appearances" and the big idea of his sermon is that being religious and keeping up appearances is useless. The true people of God have hearts transformed by God’s Spirit, enabling them to obey Him from the heart. Let's pray for God’s word to prevail mightily and accomplish His purposes through Pastor Eugene.

PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY

This Sunday, let's pray for us as a church when we gather to elect elders that we will truly steward the voice of God at the EC meeting. Also pray for fruit from the Women of Grace event on 16 Feb that the sisters in GBC will prayerfully consider building life-giving relationships in the body. Last but not least, pray for those who are joining us as members through baptism and transfer next Sunday. Here is this week's ministry guide for your prayer and participation. Let's steward the gift and time that God has given us to bless our community.
