Prepare for Worship (10 Feb 2019)
Are your strongly held religious convictions confirmed by the fruit of God’s spirit in your life?
Call to Worship: Psalm 51:1-4
“Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!
For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
and blameless in your judgment."
Here are the songs for this week.
GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
This week we welcome Pastor Ian back on the pulpit. His sermon is titled "When Confidence Fails" and he will be preaching from Romans 2:12-24. The big idea of his sermon is that our self-designed, religious convictions not only diminish God’s glory but are also insufficient to save. Let us embrace that the gospel is the only means to salvation. Let's uphold Pastor Ian that God will use him to turn hearts to Jesus.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
This Sunday, let's pray for the Women of Grace as they meet and learn from God's word and one another what it means to build live-giving relationships in the body. Also, remember to keep our elder-candidates in prayer as we affirm them on 17 Feb. Here is this week's ministry guide where you can find opportunities to serve one another by either participating in or praying for them. Let us be a church that seeks to glorify God in what we do and say, as we steward the gift and time that God in His grace has given us.
