Prepare for Worship (13 Jan 2019)
Is there anything you need, that you can receive from no one else but God? Are you willing to receive it today?
Call to Worship: Psalm 130: 1-6
“From the depths of despair, O LORD,
I call for your help.
Hear my cry, O Lord.
Pay attention to my prayer.
LORD, if you kept a record of our sins,
who, O Lord, could ever survive?
But you offer forgiveness,
that we might learn to fear you.
I am counting on the LORD;
yes, I am counting on him.
I have put my hope in his word.
I long for the Lord
more than sentries long for the dawn,
yes, more than sentries long for the dawn."
Here are the songs for this week.
GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
Kicking off the 2019 sermon series on the book of Romans this Sunday is Pastor Ian, who will be preaching on "The Gift of the Gospel" from Romans1:1-7. He will point us to the God of Good News who is gracious and infinitely inclined to spare the guilty, demands gospel obedience and bestows gospel gifts. Let's be praying for his sermon preparation during the week and pray for us to respond to the sermon in faith.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
Let's pray for us that as a church, we will seek to grow the body of Christ as we gather for worship and serve one another. Let's also pray for a wonderful time of interaction and building of relationships at the Newcomers' Lunch this Sunday. For more opportunities to serve the church community, please refer to this week's ministry guide. Let's steward the gift and time that God has given us to bless our community.
