Prepare for Worship (7 Jan 2018)

Call to Worship : Psalm 121:1-3

"I lift up my eyes to the hills.

From where does my help come?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved;

he who keeps you will not slumber.”

Blessed New Year! We trust that 2017 had been a year where you experienced God's grace and mercy in many of life's situations that He put you through to rely on Him more and to grow you. As you enter into the 1st week of the new year, consider how is God urging you to lean on Him in faith this new year. As you reflect on this question, let's be reminded that God is strong to save and utterly trustworthy.

Here are the songs to help us prepare for worship this week.

This week, Pastor Ian will bring us the 1st sermon of 2018 from our new series: "Believe, Belong, Behave". His sermon this Sunday is titled "The Facts About Faith". He will be preaching from Luke 17:1-5 & 8:22-25 2:1-12, reminding us that the quantity of our faith is less important than the quality of the object of our faith. Let's pray for the Spirit's guidance and leading in his sermon preparation and for us that as he brings God's word to us, it will draw us to trust Jesus for who He is and what He has done, not allowing the weakness of our faith to hinder us from drawing near to Christ.

We thank God for His faithfulness in 2017 and look forward to see His glory manifested through our GBC community in 2018. Let us pray that they will continue to grow and bear fruit for Christ as we do life together as a community. Here is this week's ministry guide to help us pray and get involved in the upcoming events and the ministries.

Let's prepare ourselves for worship and see you on Sunday!
