Prepare for Worship (26 May 2019)
Who or what am I trusting to make me holy?
Call to Worship : Micah 6:6-8
The law of the LORD is perfect,
reviving the soul;
the testimony of the LORD is sure,
making wise the simple;
the precepts of the LORD are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the LORD is pure,
enlightening the eyes;
the fear of the LORD is clean,
enduring forever;
the rules of the LORD are true,
and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold,
even much fine gold;
sweeter also than honey
and drippings of the honeycomb."
Here are the songs for this week.
GOD'S WORD IN WORSHIP
We heard from Romans 7:1-6 last Sunday and this week, Pastor Eugene will continue with Romans 7:7-25. His sermon is titled "The Law is Good, We are Not". He will point us to God's holy and good word which we are unable to obey ourselves, and that only Christ can rescue us from sin to serve God. Let's pray for Pastor Eugene as he prepares the sermon that he will be faithful to the text and that God's word will take root in our hearts, bearing fruit for His glory. Pray that we will respond by trusting in Christ for holiness, and not depend on our own efforts to keep the law or any man-made rules and standards for that matter.
PRAYING FOR THE COMMUNITY
We thank God for the completion of Celebration of Hope and let's pray for fruit and the follow-up effort of the new believers. Also, let's pray that we as a church will gather on Friday, 31 May, for a time of praising God and praying for God's work in our midst. For more of our life in community or prayer needs, please refer to this week's ministry guide.
